VENUSIAN is a Brooklyn based visual artist and designer focused on color, concept, and creativity.
The majority of her work captures female form and perspective in varied physical, emotional, and spiritual states. Her portraiture (erotic and otherwise) emphasizes both lighting and composition, providing a window into the evolution of a woman’s emotional process. As her most transformative method of self therapy, her self portraiture harnesses the energy of both the healer and the healed. Her real world observations through photography are distinct and offer an air of nostalgia, depicting the natural world through a lens of fantasy.
Considering herself a self taught artist, Venusian takes pride in her lack of formal fine art training. Her background in Video Production from alma mater, Temple University, serves as the foundation for her career in the visual arts. Past collaborations include self published TIMES zine with Amber Elise Jones, On the Fence exhibition with filmmaker K$K, experimental film work, album covers for New York and Philadelphia musicians, and more.
In 2019, she is delving deeper into her cinematography skill-set by incorporating more video based work into her portfolio. Additionally, she will be releasing content from her recent 9 months of travel through both collaborative and solo projects.
